Creation Process of the Product:
Research:
For the creation process of the product, I followed a similar product making process of which we do in the subject Product Design. This process's first step is to gather all the research to answer all questions related to the project that would be helpful in gaining insight and understanding towards the making/designing of the product.

Initial and developed design ideas:
Using the research gathered, I started to create design ideas for the product. Each design had a different shape and a different method to filter out micro-plastics. One design is based on the bottom of a Pontoon boat and its uses this shape to hold cotton to absorb and filter out oils and micro-plastics. The other's shape is inspired by a buoy and it uses the same features to ensure its as buoyant as a buoy.

Final Outcome:
After the creation of the ideas, I created a table to evaluate the design ideas to decide which one is better.
After the evaluation, I chose the buoy design and then developed further by adding more aesthetics to the product and also by creating the components that the product consists of such as the pump and filter.
Inspirations:
This ocean cleaning product gave me the idea to use a pump to help filter garbage. Find it here -->World’s First Ocean Cleanup System Heads For Largest Ocean Garbage Patch (interestingengineering.com)
Fionn Ferreria, google science fair winner by developing a method using ferrofluid to clean micro-plastic polluted water. He developed a method and used the discovery that oil and plastics are of the same polarity and therefore his method helped me gain an understanding of it.
